Voluntary Instalment Plan FAQ
How do I apply for a Voluntary Instalment Plan?
For infringements that are for fines of $200 or greater (or for infringements issued under a local law that are $150 or greater), the notice should include the option
to pay by instalments. You must send your infringement notice along with your
current name, date of birth, address and phone number to the address shown
on the back of the notice. You must also make a first payment of $60 to the
address on the Infringement Notice.
You cannot apply for this option through SPER.
Once you have paid your first instalment and applied for a Voluntary Instalment Plan, a Voluntary Instalment Payment Notice is issued containing a schedule of payments. The unpaid amount is lodged with SPER and once you receive this notice, all payments must be paid to SPER.
Is the Voluntary Instalment Plan threshold available for multiple fines?
No. A Voluntary Instalment Plan can only apply to one fine and that fine must
be the threshold amount or greater.
How do I make payments once a Voluntary Instalment Plan has been lodged
with SPER?
Cash payments will be accepted at any Magistrates Court, QGAP Office or at SPER. SPER also
accepts EFTPOS.
Cheques and Money Orders can be made out to SPER and posted to:
SPER
GPO Box 1387,
Brisbane, Qld 4001.
Credit card payments can be made by calling the SPER Call Centre on 1300 365 635.
Automatic deductions from your nominated bank account or credit card can be arranged by calling the SPER Call Centre on 1300 365 635 or by downloading, completing and posting the Direct Debit form to SPER at the above address.

If you receive a Centrelink payment you may be eligible to pay your outstanding fines through our Centrepay option. To see if you are eligible contact SPER.
When do I make payments on a Voluntary Instalment Plan?

a schedule of payments.
Your first payment will be due within one month. You can automate your payments by completing the direct debit authority sent with your payment plan, or by contacting the SPER Call Centre on 1300 365 635.
