Fine Collection Notices - Employee Wages

If you receive an Enforcement Order and you fail to act within the time specified, SPER may order your employer to deduct money from your wages to pay your fine. This order is called a Fine Collection Notice.

A Fine Collection Notice is compulsory and a decision to enforce your fine this way cannot be appealed.

SPER will send the Fine Collection Notice to your employer, and a copy will be sent to your last known address.

The Fine Collection Notice can order your employer to take regular deductions out of your wages or salary at a rate determined by SPER.

Failure by an employer to comply with the Fine Collection Notice is an offence. If your employer is found guilty of this offence, they are liable to a penalty of up to what should have been deducted under the Fine Collection Notice.
