Enforcement Order FAQ
What is the 'search fee' added to the fine on my Enforcement Order?
When an offence involves a vehicle and the identity of the offender is not
known, the infringement notice or court summons can be issued to the owner
of the vehicle. This is most common with parking and camera offences.
To obtain the details of the owner, the organisation that issued the infringement notice must perform a search which usually requires the payment of a search fee. This fee can be added to your fine.
What is the 'registration fee' added to the fine on my Enforcement Order?
When an infringement notice is lodged with SPER for enforcement, a registration fee
of $52.00 is added to the fine.
Can I make part payments on my Enforcement Order?
Yes. You can make part payments, however, if you are having trouble paying
before the due date expires, you should consider applying for an Instalment Plan.
You can apply for an Instalment Plan by contacting the SPER Call Centre on 1300 365 635 or by completing the application that can be downloaded here and fax it in.
What happens if I'm on a current SPER Instalment Plan and I receive another
Enforcement Order for a new fine registered with SPER?
Check your Enforcement Order (front page) to see whether your new fine has been
linked to your Instalment Plan. If it has, you will receive a new Instalment
Payment Notice in the mail. If it hasn't, contact the Call Centre to request
it be added.
A new fine has been registered with SPER and has been included in my Instalment
Plan but I wish to elect for a court hearing.
If your fine is an Infringement Notice write to SPER advising your request to have the matter heard in court by the due date and your fine will be removed
from your Instalment Plan.
